Levi Rasey Foster

Born June 28, 2018 at 12:09 am

7 pounds, 9 ounces & 19.5” long

Baby Foster was due on July 2, but decided to come a few days early. Mom was woken up by her water breaking in the early hours of June 27. After sending some work emails (of course), we arrived at the hospital a few hours later. After 22 hours of labor, our little Levi was born at nearby Saint Joseph’s Hospital of Orange County.

Our goal had been a natural birth - no epidural and minimal intervention. Shae made it about 19 hours in, and to about 9 cm dilated before we were told that the baby was face up and needed to be turned. The doctor recommended an epidural for that procedure as it would be incredibly painful. So after getting almost to the finish line, Shae did have an epidural, the baby was turned and we delivered about 2 hours later after only 20 minutes of pushing. Our little one got here safe and sound and we finally found out that we were having a boy!

We met our son in the early minutes of June 28 and immediately fell in love. Thank you for helping us welcome Levi to the world!
